This Organic Elderberry Syrup Kit is Plastic-Free. It comes in a reusable, recyclable glass jar with a metal lid, and a paper label. Reuse it or toss in your recycle bins. No plastic is used in the container or in the packaging.

Instructions for making Elderberry Syrup
1. Add jar contents and 4 cups of water to a saucepan.
2. Simmer for 40 minutes or until reduced by about 50%
3. Smash berries with a fork.
4. Cool just enough to avoid burns while straining.
5. Strain using a fine metal strainer, nut milk bag, or cheesecloth into a jar.
6. Let cool to room temperature and add 1/2-1 cup of honey or maple syrup. Refrigerate!
Dosage of prepared product
Ages 3 yrs-adult: 1-2 tsps daily. When ill: 2-4 tsps twice a day.

Answer: Once prepared it’s estimated to be best by 3-6 weeks refrigerated. You can also extend the life by freezing it for up to an additional 6 months.
